If you think that a friend or a family member is very stressed, ask them if they are stressed. If they have a lot on their plate, offer help - perhaps you can cook a meal for them or help with shopping / laundry or anything that they might not have time to do themselves right now.
It would also be a good idea to organise something fun to do together – a nice hike and a coffee, a trip to the Cinema or just a regular walk and a chat in the evenings. These things all show that you care and are great stress relievers.
