3Ts campaigns embrace our education, support and research values. We work with our charity partners, supporters, third level colleges and with other NGOs to raise awareness of mental health & suicide and to call for improved services and supports for those in crisis.
Some of our favourite activities involve working with young adults and our on-campus "Share the Load" activity is a great example. Our One Kind Word kicked off on the streets of Dublin just before the coronavirus pandemic arrived in Ireland. As the first lockdown progressed, kindness became a bye-word for the times and was never more important in day to day life and for our mental health.
For many years, we have called for a Suicide Prevention Authority, similar to the Road Safety Authority, to co-ordinate suicide prevention services, both statutory & voluntary, in Ireland. We also campaign for 24/7 Suicide Crisis Centres as a more suitable alternative to A&E for those experiencing suicidal ideation or other mental health crises.
Collaboration is key and we work in partnership with other charities and organisations. We are proud members of Mental Health Reform, Ireland's leading national coalition of organisations campaigning to transform mental health and well-being supports in Ireland. There is power in numbers and we are one of 70 member member organisations of Mental Health Reform campaigning and working towards a common goal, an Ireland with accessible, effective and inclusive mental health services and supports.
